BiographyHistory

Edwin 'Hoppy' Draper spent a turbulent 15 years editing newspapers in Cairns and Geraldton including The Cairns Chronicle and its successor The Cairns Argus. Draper attracted multiple law suits, was horse-whipped by Frederick Wimble, editor of The Cairns Post, on Christmas Day 1886, and had soot dumped on him by an incensed woman.
