BiographyHistory

Valerie Browning was born in the United Kingdom and grew up in Armidale, New South Wales. She has lived in the Afar region of Ethiopia for most of her adult life. In 1994, with her Afar husband Ismael Ali Gardo, she established the Afar Pastoral Development Association.
