BiographyHistory

Giovannino Guareschi was an Italian journalist, newspaper editor and novelist. He was best known for his characters Don Camillo (an anti-communist priest) and Camillo's adversary Peppone (the communist town mayor).

Guiliiano Montagna (q.v.) revealed in his autobiography My Father Giovannino Guareschi that he is Guareschi's illegitimate son.
