BiographyHistory

Tommy Lyons started working at the age of eleven, picking up lamb's wool in a shearing shed. During World War Two Lyons joined the Army and was placed in the 2/13th Battalion, A Company, and became one of the "Rats of Tobruk". While in the Army, Lyons learned how to read and write. After returning to Australia, Lyons worked for the Water Commission, for over twenty-seven years.
