BiographyHistory

Letty Scott was born at Ragetts Well, Glen Helen Station in the Northern Territory. Her father was an Irish-Australian World War I veteran; her mother was a traditional tribal Anmatyerre woman. Scott came to prominence in pursuit of justice following the death in custody of her husband Douglas Scott. To counter the stress of her campaign on his behalf, Scott took up painting. Her work is held in Australian galleries.
