BiographyHistory

Elsie Rose Jones was born around the late 1910s. Her mother was a Barkindji woman and her father a Scotsman. Jones' father moved the family frequently as he went in search of work on the stations which resulted in a lack of education for his children. As an adult, Jones was able to give her children an education at school. She has lived most of her life in Wilcannia, New South Wales.
