Sunshine Williams was born in the Gibson Desert area of Western Australia. When she was a girl, her family walked out of the desert and onto Carnegie Station. There she was named Sunshine. For the majority of her life, she lived at Wiluna, in central Western Australia. She was married to Dusty Stevens.
