Phillip (Loppy) Kennedy was born 31 January, 1946 at Walgett. His father was Charlie (Sandy) Kennedy and his mother was Ivy Welsh from Pilliga. At thirteen he was riding horses and at seventeen he went to work at Bukulla Station.
