BiographyHistory

Jeanie Joyce Lord nee Ferguson is the youngest of twelve children. Her mother was Margarite Mathieson Gowans and her father was Bill (William) Ferguson both came from Darlington Point. Her father Bill Ferguson was part of the Aboriginal Progressive Association and the Day of Mourning Protest in the 1930s and he was the first Aboriginal person to be asked to sit on the newly esatablished Welfare Board in the 1940s.
