BiographyHistory

Edna Andrew was born at Crown Street Women's Hospital. Her mother was Phyllis Donovan and her grandmother was Agnes Donovan from Kempsey in Dhunggati country. Andrew's grandfather was Christopher 'Hackett' Stewart from the south coast of New South Wales. Andrew lived with her grandparents in her childhood, and the family moved up and down the east coast of New South Wales because her grandfather worked in the sawmills. Andrew settled in the Sydney suburb of Waterloo where she finished her schooling at the age of fourteen.
