BiographyHistory

Lorna Nelson's mother died soon after her birth and Nelson was cared for by her mother's sister. As a child, she was rounded up by the authorities and forced to walk from Seven Mile to Manga Manda where she was permitted some contact with her family. In 1946, however, she was sent to the Retta Dixon Home in Darwin. In 1977, Nelson found out that she had a sister named Eileen. They met for the first time in 1979.
