BiographyHistory

Cheryl Carpenter was born at Berry Hospital. Her mother was Minnie Timbery and her father was David Charles Carpenter. Although based at the mission at Roseby Park, the family had seasonal work at Bodalla picking beans in the summer and peas in the winter where the whole family worked from six in the morning to five in the afternoon. As a result, Carpenter did not receive much schooling. Carpenter worked in a paper mill at Nowra for twenty years.
