Angie Hoffmann was born and educated in Berlin. She trained as an accountant and worked in the British Consulate in Berlin. In the early 1970s Hoffman moved to Australia and worked in the German Embassy and in various roles in the Commonwealth Public Service. She joined the Canberra Multicultural Writers Group in 1998.
Hoffman's business writing has been published in national magazines and her creative writing has appeared in several anthologies. Her short story collection, Other Places Other Times was published in 2006.
