BiographyHistory

Albert Walford was born on Boorooma station near Walgett, New South Wales. His grandfather, Thomas Walford, was an Englishman who purchased property near Walgett. His mother was Nellie Brown, an Aboriginal woman from Walgett. Walford became a station hand at the age of fourteen and married his wife, Iris, in 1938.
