Margaret Parker was born on Brewarrina Mission in New South Wales. In 1921, at the age of twelve, Parker was apprenticed until 1927. Later she married and had children. When the school tried to segregate the Indigenous Australian children, Parker joined Murri parent's resistance to keep the children together.
