BiographyHistory

Mary Wright worked for more than twenty years in Western Australia in radio production, journalism, arts management, publishing and government arts policy-making. She was Promotions Officer and Publicist for Fremantle Arts Centre and Fremantle Arts Centre Press 1983-1988. In this capacity she was also the founding editor of the Fremantle Arts Review. Wright then ran an arts management and consultancy business in Fremantle (with writer and editor Wendy Jenkins) before joining the Western Australian Department for the Arts in 1992, first as Public Affairs Manager and then as a senior policy officer. She moved to England in 1999 to take up the position of Head of Communications at Yorkshire Arts Board.
