BiographyHistory

Musician, including with Mixed Relations, and poet.

Sharon Carpenter was told that she had Aboriginal ancestry when she was thirteen. She studied dance for eighteen months at the Aboriginal and Islander Dance Theatre at Glebe and later attended the Eora Centre, an Aboriginal college of performing and visual arts. She has been active in the community volunteering as an announcer for Aboriginal radio station Radio Redfern in 1986 and 1987. She has also worked as an actress and singer.
