BiographyHistory

Ted Egan Jangala is a Warlpiri Elder who has worked as a Police Tracker in the Northern Territory and has starred in various Australian television shows such as 'The Alice', 'Dramatically Black' and 'This Land Australia'. Jangala has also featured in Australian films such as 'Bit of Black Business : Nana', 'Ozzie' and 'Green Bush'. In 1967, Jangala's skills as a tracker resulted in the capture of an escaped murder suspect after two policemen had been wounded in the search. In 2000, Jangala was called upon again to assist Northern Territory police in recapturing an escaped prisoner using his tracking skills. He was also a member of the team of trackers used by Barrow Creek police in searching for the missing tourist Peter Falconio.
