Annette Freeman was born and raised in Tasmania. She gained her first two degrees at the Australian National University, Canberra, and her postgraduate degree at the University of Technology Sydney. Following a thirty-year career as a trade marks lawyer, Annette Freeman spent eighteen months establishing and running the Tea in the Library bookshop in Sydney's CBD.
