Slim Parker was born on Mulga Downs Station to Jukari Parker (q.v.) and Herbert Parker (q.v.). The family moved away from their traditional land for work and compulsory schooling. Parker went through tribal law at the age of seventeen. He first became involved in Aboriginal Affairs in 1972, when he represented the Noualla group of Onslow at meetings for the Department of Aboriginal Affairs (DAA). Parker was also a member of the State Committee as chairperson of the North West Consultative Committee. In the 1970s, the Noualla group purchased the Peedamulla Station for the whole Aboriginal community in the area. Parker has also been involved with many negotiations with the Department of Conservation and Land Management (C.A.L.M) over the years.
