BiographyHistory

In October 1853, Messers Reading and Wellbank purchased 'the stock of printing type, presses and material lately used in the job department of the Sydney Morning Herald'. Reading had been in charge of the Herald's job department for seven years previous to the sale and John Fairfax expressed 'great confidence in transferring that part of the [Herald's] business' to the new firm.
