BiographyHistory

'Born in Melbourne in 1931, James Meldrum studied in Melbourne and on various trips to the UK, Europe, Japan and Mexico. A surrealist painter in oil and acrylic, his first solo exhibition was held in Melbourne in 1951 and in Sydney in 1966. James Meldrum's work is represented in the Australian War Memorial and National Collection, Canberra, the Tasmanian state gallery and regional galleries.'
