BiographyHistory

Colin James was born on the Ivanhoe Station and is a Miriwung man who speaks Ngali. He attended the Kimberley Research Station government school and finished at seventh grade. In 1965 he married Dorreen whose skin is Nawana. He worked for Argyle for three years and in 1971 Colin and six other Aboriginal leaders formed the Mirima Council.
