BiographyHistory

Martha Laurie grew up mainly in Wyndham. She has five brothers and sisters and is the second youngest child. Martha's earliest memories are of taking cattle with her father Bill Laurie (q.v.) from Lissadell to Wyndham. Martha's mother Amy Laurie is referred to often by Ann McGrath (q.v.) in her study of women's roles, Born in the Cattle: Aborigines in Cattle Country (1987).
