'This ancient Nongar Dreamtime story is told in the words of Elder Cliff Humphries.

'It tells the tale of Kwergan the Crowman and his two Mali (black swan) wives; what happened to his younger wife when she laughed at her husband, and why his elder wife left Kwergan’s maang-art Jam Gum boodjar in the East and returned to the well-watered lands of the Bibboolmun paperbark in the West. It also tells of Kergan’s rescue by his uncle Waarlitj (eagle), who took him to the salt-lake country near Kellerberrin only to have Kwergan repay his uncle’s kindness with behaviour typical of Crowman.'
