Cundill is an award-winning writer of television drama, including episodes of the ABC's Janus and Heartland.
Before his arrival in Australia (and–rarely–afterwards), he scripted the following television series, films, and telemovies in South Africa:
- Westgate (1981)
- 1922 (1984)
- The Outcast (1984)
- The Mantis Project (1985)
- Jock of the Bushveld (1986)
- The Angel, the Bicycle and the Chinaman's Finger (1992)
His final recorded script was Askari (2001), an American film set on a South African nature preserve. ('Askari' is generally a term for a local soldier serving in the army of a colonial power in Africa.)
