Jane Camens has lived in Hong Kong and other parts of China since 1986. She co-founded Hong Kong's international literary festival with Nury Vittachi and Shirley Geok-lin Lim, and she has also founded the Asia-Pacific Writing Partnership, an international collaboration of educational institutions, literary organisations and individuals aiming to support and promote new writing from Asia and the Pacific.
Camens holds an MA from the University of East Anglia, UK, a MFA in fiction from Vermont College, Norwich University, USA, and studied for a PhD in Creative Writing at Griffith University, Queensland. She teaches writing, and her short fiction and essays have been published in journals and anthologies both in Australia and overseas.
