BiographyHistory

Basil Winmar is a Noongar Elder who was born on Badjaling Mission just outside of Quairading in the Wheatbelt area of Western Australia. When he turned nine, the family moved to Livingstone, outside of Quairading where his father had obtained work. Winmar is the eldest of nine children and brother to Winnie McHenry (q.v.).
