BiographyHistory

Eric Krakouer, the son of Alf Krakouer and Sophie Smith and the fifth of ten children, was born in a place called Jam Gully. His mother died when Eric was young and at the age of seven his family moved to a farm called Yeriminup. Eric worked on several farms around the area before moving to Mt. Barker when sixteen years old and has lived there ever since. He is an Elder from Mt. Barker and is a representative on the Commission of Elders for the Great Southern Region of Western Australia. On various occasions Eric is consulted on Aboriginal sites around the south-west.
