BiographyHistory

Lancel Samuel 'Moorareet' Williams is from the South West region of Western Australia. Known as Sam, he is the brother of Jack Williams (q.v.) and Averil Dean (q.v.). Lancel lived in a traditional manner after leaving the mission and moved from farm to farm with his parents working around the Tambellup area. He left school at sixteen and went away working on the main roads for a period of time. In 1962 he went to Kellerberrin to work with the Native Welfare Department. In 1967 Sam married Shirley Colbung and later on in life worked as a counsellor and educator with the Great Southern Community Drug Service Team in Albany.
