BiographyHistory

Richard Shadforth's earlier years were spent at Kunmunya mission, Western Australia and his childhood was one filled with happy memories surrounded by family and cultural awareness.

At the age of 18 Richard began working with, and fixing farming machinery and during his working life Richard has been a shearer, drover and a transport driver with the Derby Transport Company.

Richard has been a much-loved and well-respected Nyungar Elder in the Derby community who enjoys storytelling and engaging with community on historical and contemporary Aboriginal issues.
