Bill Harrison is of Yorta Yorta heritage, Victoria. He has had an extensive career in the Australian Navy, and was an English and History high school teacher before entering the Commonwealth Public Service, eventually becoming a university lecturer.
He was Head of the Aboriginal Education Centre at the University of Wollongong and then Director of Teaching and Learning with the School of Indigenous Studies at the University of Western Australia. Following his retirement, he began writing more stories of his teaching and life experiences.
