BiographyHistory

Andrew Fraser started his writing career in 2007 with a book discussing his career as a criminal lawyer, criminals and the prison world. Fraser has seen both sides of the law: he spent thirty years as a high-profile criminal lawyer representing among others, Alan Bond, the notorious underworld Moran family, killer Dennis Allen and footballer Jimmy Krakouer, among others. He also served a seven-year gaol sentence from 2001 to 2006 on a drug-related charge.

Fraser writes critically about the Australian prison system and argues that successive governments have played the law-and-order card without regard to the appalling outcomes.
