BiographyHistory

Isaac Yama was labelled the father, or sometimes the godfather, of central desert music. During the late sixties he played with the Areyonga Desert Tigers. Born by a waterhole near Docker River, in the Petermann Range near the Western Australian border, Yama was a singer and songwriter, who only performed in the Pitjantjatjara language.
