BiographyHistory

Widely regarded as 'father of the Australian aircraft industry,' Lawrence Wackett was involved in most aspects of early Australian aviation, including those of pilot, airframe and engine designer, entrepreneur and manager. He was knighted for his services to the industry and also won the Oswald Watt Gold Medal. A keen angler he also wrote two books on the subject.
