BiographyHistory

Gus Miller's parents were Tina Edgell and Henry Miller, both Noongars. Gus had twelve siblings and after his mother died the children were taken from their father. The young boys were taken to Sister Kate's Children's Home, Perth and the girls to Wandering Mission, Perth. Gus Miller was raised in Sister Kate's Home and left when when he was sixteen years old.

As a young man, Gus joined George Stewart's Boxing Troupe and later worked in the mines, as a truck driver and a machinery operator in the Western Australian goldfields.
