BiographyHistory

In 1987, Ayten Sengul migrated to Australia from Turkey with her husband and their five-month-old daughter. She had trained as a nurse in Turkey and, after three months supervised work experience, was able to work as a nurse in Australia. [Source: Fire, Snow and Honey, p. 111]
