Carol Millner moved to Western Australia from New Zealand in 2005. She holds a Master of Arts in Theatre Studies and has worked in Australia and New Zealand as an actor, director and theatre teacher.
Among her works on New Zealand theatre (not indexed on AustLit) are 'Country Women’s Institute Drama' (in Women Together, ed/ Anne Else, Bridget Williams Books and the Historical Branch, Dept of Internal Affairs, Wellington, NZ, 1993) and 'Staging Women’s Talk: A Discussion of Selected Works by Violet Targuse' (NZ Women’s Studies Journal, May 1991, pp. 75-83).
In 2022, she graduated from Curtin University with a PhD in Creative Writing.
In addition to awards listed on AustLit, she was also highly commended for the Wingate Award for the short story 'A Short History of Toast'.
