BiographyHistory

In 1586 Maria d'Avalos married her first cousin Carlo Gesualdo (q.v.). She later began a love affair with Fabrizio Carafa. On 16 October 1590, Gesualdo murdered the lovers at the Palazzo San Severo in Naples.
