BiographyHistory

Roslyn Watson is a Mulinjarli and Burri Gubba woman. She is active in the Arts as a dancer. In 1972, Watson was the first Indigenous Australian to graduate from the Australian Ballet School. She was also the first Australian to be a member of the United States company Dance Theatre of Harlem a troupe of all-black dancers. She has participated in dance companies here in Australia and overseas, including the Australian Dance Theatre. While in Paris in the 1980s, Watson and her husband set up their own dance company, Brolga.
