BiographyHistory

Doris Kirby was born at Berry Hospital on the south coast of New South Wales to George Perry from the Cowra area and Isabelle Perry (nee Cooper) from the Yass area. Kirby was a member of the Stolen Generations and was taken from her family and sent to the Cootamundra Girls' Home at the age of four in the late 1960s. Kirby was in the homes for ten years before she was allowed to go back home to her family. Percy Mumbler was Kirby's step-father.
