Dorothy Gordon left an acting career and two failed marriages behind her in Australia when she left for London in 1927. There she wrote a gossip column under the name 'Andrea'. In 1940 she was in Asia working as a war correspondent. She was captured and held in a prisoner of war camp. After 1951 Jenner wrote for the Mirror and later for 2UE, and pioneering talk-back radio on 2GB.
