McCreadie ) 1948 Australia : McCreadie Brothers Embassy Pictures , 1948 Z1404765 1948 single work film/TV Inspired by the heroics of his father (a naval officer who died in action during the First World War), Terry Regan also enlists in the navy. While on return leave in Australia, he falls in love with and proposes marriage to a woman, but the wedding is cancelled when Terry is ordered to return to active duty in the Pacific. He is later killed after his destroyer is attacked by a Japanese squadron. Terry's close friend Warren survives, however, and makes a commitment to carry on the tradition to which both Terry and his father had sacrificed their lives.
