After travelling throughout her childhood, Christina Lee graduated with a BA in English and Psychology from the University of Adelaide (1978), then completed a PhD in Psychology in 1983. She worked in Melbourne and Newcastle, and for a few years ran a national survey of women's health before moving to Queensland, where she was appointed Head of the School of Psychology at the University of Queensland.
Of her writing she says 'I write crime fiction which is humorous, feminist, and somewhat noir. It's sometimes set in academia, where I have my day job, but more often among the demi-monde of prostitutes, junkies and the sexually ambiguous' (private correspondence).
Lee has also written short crime fiction, and writing as Christina Lee won the Australian Sisters in Crime Scarlet Stiletto Award in 1996 and 1998.
