1 5 Hot Shoe Shuffle David Atkins , Dein Perry , Kathryn Riding , Larry Buttrose , Max Lambert , 1992 single work musical theatre A dance musical featuring the big band hits of the 1940, Hot Shoe Shuffle tells the tale of the seven Tap bothers, Spring, Slap, Buck, Wing, Tip, Tap and Slide who learn that their long-absent father has died and left them a fortune. To receive their inheritance all they have to do perform his legendary act the Hot Shoe Shuffle with a sister they never knew existed. The problem is that April has two left feet! Coached by a friend of their fathers, Max Renfield, the brothers eventually overcome their resentment and suspicion of April, and she becomes part of the family and the show. A twist in the plot reveals that the inheritance tale is a ruse to bring the family back together again, and the Hot Shoe Shuffle is finally performed triumphantly, in the tradition of the best Broadway musicals.
