BiographyHistory

Jurgen Tampke completed a Ph.D. at the Australian National University in 1975. He subsequently lectured for many years at the School of History at the University of New South Wales. He has written a number of works on Germans in Australia, including Australia, Willkommen (1990), and The Germans in Australia (2006), as well as books about Germany in the twentieth century. Tampke also co-edited, with Patricia Cloos, Greetings from the Land Where Milk and Honey Flows : the German emigration to NSW 1838-1858 (1993).
