BiographyHistory

Najaf Mazari arrived in Australia as a 'boat person' with other Afghan asylum seekers in 2001. He was held in the Woomera detention centre until 2002 and then settled in Melbourne, working as a rug maker. In 2006 Mazari's wife and daughter joined him in Australia. They became Australian citizens in April 2007.
