BiographyHistory

Theatre director and playwright Matthew Lutton graduated in Theatre Arts from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. He is the founder of the theatre company ThinIce Productions. Lutton has worked in Western Australia, including an appointment as associate director of the Black Swan Theatre Company (q.v.); he has also worked with Griffin Theatre, Sydney.

Lutton was named 'Young West Australian Achiever of the Year' for Arts in 2005. In 2008 Lutton received a commission from Aldeburgh New Music in the UK to create a new contemporary opera with Czech composer Miroslav Srnka, and in 2009 he directs the new model 'Actors Company' at Sydney Theatre Company.
