BiographyHistory

Bruce Simpson was a bush poet and drover.

As well as publishing printed works, he recorded a number of interviews with various outback characters and storytellers for the Drovers Oral History project. He co-authored (with Ian Tinney) the documentary work Where the Dead Men Lie: Tales of Graves, Pioneers and Old Bush Pubs (2003).

He was the recipient of the Australian Bush Laureate Award.
