BiographyHistory

Mabel Stewart Temple was the sister of Hilda Temple Kerr (q.v.), and grew up in Orbost. The sisters were adept at writing poetry and plays, playing music, sketching and embroidering. Patrick Kerr writes that '[t]heir simple poetry of the bush and sea is typical of the verse of the day.'

She died young, her published poetry being written before the age of 21.
